Timčo Mucunski

Minister of Foreign Affairs, North Macedonia

Timcho Mucunski is an Assistant Professor at the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law at the Ss. Cyril and Мethodius University in Skopje, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on Roman law, rhetoric, argumentation models, corporate ethics and others. He has co-authored two university textbooks, as well as over 30 scientific and professional papers published in international and domestic scientific journals. He has taken part in a number of international scientific conferences, while simultaneously being actively engaged in several international and domestic scientific research projects.

Between 2015 and 2017 he held the office of Deputy Minister for Information Society and Administration, while from 2020 to 2021 he also served a term as MP in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, chairing the Parliamentary Committee on Financing and Budget while also serving as member in the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and the Committee on European Affairs. In October 2021 he was elected Mayor of the Skopje Municipality of Aerodrom, discharging the mayoral office until June 2024, when he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.

After graduating from the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law at the Ss. Cyril and Мethodius University in Skopje in 2009, Timcho Mucunski completed master studies in 2011 and doctoral studies in 2019 at the same faculty. He started his academic carrier at the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law first as lecturer and teaching assistant, being promoted to the title of Assistant Professor shortly after.
